Two ways to look at it
- Pack view — the whole group on screen at once. This is the one you use to see where everybody is.
- My line — the map turns with you, tilted, for navigation. This is the one you use to ride.
The turn banner
If the ride has a route, the top of the screen shows the next manoeuvre, the distance to it, and your ETA / time / distance left. The voice calls the turns out loud while Pack is on screen — the horn button mutes it. Lock the phone and the spoken turns stop, though the recording and your position keep going.
Miss a turn and Pack recalculates by itself. When there is no signal to recalculate with, it stops pretending: the banner turns into NO SIGNAL — CAN'T RECALCULATE with an arrow pointing back at the route and the distance to it, and the voice shuts up until it can route again.
Ending it
- END RIDE — only the road captain (or whoever created the ride) can do this. It stops tracking for everyone and builds the recap.
- End my ride — you peel off early. The pack's ride keeps going without you.
The dots of the other riders are smoothed between position updates, so they glide instead of jumping. Your own dot, your camera and the navigation always use your real live GPS.
