Reading the diagnostic line in Settings

Scroll to the bottom of Settings. That little grey text is not decoration. When something goes wrong, this is the first thing to look at and the first thing to send us.

Version

The OTA # is the update everyone in the club compares. If your number is lower than everybody else's, close Pack completely and reopen it — updates land on the next launch.

GPS

• always ✓ — background location is granted. bg denied ⚠ means it is not: go fix the permission.
• task ON / task off — whether the location tracker is registered. off during a live ride means the phone killed it; opening Pack re-arms it.
• background / foreground-only / none — the ride mode. `none` just means there is no live ride right now. It is not an error.
• hb: is the heartbeat — seconds since the last tracker tick, the last GPS fix, and the last write to the network. Only shows once there has been a fix.

Sync

• conn ✓ connected · conn … connecting · conn off disconnected.
• synced 26s — how long since data last came down. never synced ⚠ means nothing has come down at all.
• idle / dl / up — whether it is downloading or uploading right now.
• If the whole line turns red, there is a live sync error and the message is printed right there.

DATA NOT SAVED

LAST CRASH

If Pack closed on you, a red LAST CRASH card appears with the date. Tap it to expand the whole thing, screenshot it and send us the picture, then hit Clear. (This card has no copy button — the screenshot is the way.) That text is the difference between us guessing and us fixing.
