ROUTES & RECAPS

The recap after a ride

Map, stats, photos, ride again — and why the speed does not match your bike.

When the road captain hits END RIDE, the ride turns into a recap. It stays in the club's history.

What's in it

  • The map, with three layers: Planned (what you drew), Actual (where you really went) and Both.
  • Distance, time and riders — free for everyone.
  • Photo album — anyone on the ride can add to it.
  • Save as route and Ride again, to do it all over.
  • Share card to send out of the app.

Advanced stats

Top speed, average speed, elevation gain and highest point are Premium. Distance, time and rider count are not — those stay free.

The ride chronicle

An AI write-up of the ride in the club's voice. Generating one is Premium; once it exists, anyone can read it for free.

Why the top speed doesn't match my speedo

Because your bike is lying to you, not Pack. Motorcycle speedometers read high on purpose — it is legal, deliberate, and every manufacturer does it. Pack reads speed off the GPS, which is what a radar gun and a GPS lap timer read too. If Pack says 78 and the clocks said 85, you were doing about 78.

OLD ELEVATION NUMBERS ON IPHONE

Elevation gain on recaps from before 20 July 2026 is inflated on iPhone — in some cases by a lot. It was a bug in how we filtered GPS altitude and it is fixed, but old recaps were not recalculated because the raw data no longer exists. Distance, time and the map on those rides are fine.
