Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail

The Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail from Daytona's Main Street: the route rides A1A and Granada to the Halifax River, follows Beach Street and Old Dixie Highway under the oaks past Tomoka State Park and the Dummett sugar mill ruins, takes Walter Boardman Lane and High Bridge Road, the curviest stretch, crosses the Halifax and comes back down John Anderson Drive before a last run north on A1A. It's 37 miles, flat and shaded. Bike Week (March 5-14, 2027) and Biketoberfest every October pack Daytona and Ormond.

The Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail is a state scenic highway around the Halifax and Tomoka rivers, and Rider Magazine featured it as a motorcycle ride in June 2026. From Main Street in Daytona the route takes A1A and Granada Boulevard to the river and follows Beach Street and Old Dixie Highway north under a tunnel of live oaks. It passes the entrance to Tomoka State Park and the ruins of the Dummett sugar mill, built in 1825 and burned in 1836 during the Second Seminole War, with a small pullout beside them. Near Bulow Creek State Park stands the Fairchild Oak, a live oak estimated at more than 400 years old.

Walter Boardman Lane and High Bridge Road are the curviest part of the loop, through hammock and marsh, and the route crosses the Halifax on the High Bridge, where Highbridge Park, a small county park, has parking, a boat ramp and a fishing pier. It comes back south on John Anderson Drive along the river and finishes with a run north on A1A by the ocean. It's flat and shaded, so slow down in the oak tunnels and at the ruins entrance. Daytona Bike Week runs from March 5 to 14, 2027, and Biketoberfest fills the area every October.
