From Edison · CR-513 · Chester to Frenchtown

This full-day version starts in Edison (Menlo Park). The first 34 miles go out on back roads, mostly US-202, US-22 and CR-605, to Chester, where the good part begins. The core stretch, CR-513 · Chester to Frenchtown, runs 30 miles to Frenchtown.

The ride home is the quick way: 48 miles on I-287, I-78 and NJ-12 back to Edison. All in, it's about 113 miles and 3 hours in the saddle, before any stops for gas, food or photos. There's time to take it easy.

CR-513 runs end to end across rural Hunterdon: Chester, Long Valley, Califon, High Bridge, Clinton and Pittstown, finishing on the Delaware at Frenchtown. A mix of valleys, historic towns and open bends, with good stops in Califon and Clinton. Works as a relaxed day ride or as a link to NJ-29. The towns have low limits and Califon is tight, so take it easy there.
